The eyes which do not look at the symbolic representations of the Personality of Godhead Viṣṇu [His forms, name, quality, etc.] are like those printed on the plumes of the peacock, and the legs which do not move to the holy places [where the Lord is remembered] are considered to be like tree trunks.
Modern university education practically prepares one to acquire a doggish mentality with which to accept the service of the greater master. After finishing with so called education, the so call educated persons move like dogs from door to door with applications for some service and mostly they are driven away informed of no vacancy. As dogs are negligible animals and serve the master faithfully for bits of bread and man serves a master faithfully without sufficient rewards.
